Anyone looking for a "thought leadership marketing" or "thought leadership R&D" job needs to say the right things on his or her LinkedIn profile. Why? Because that's where the recruiters are looking, according to an article in the latest issue of Fortune magazine.
The article explains why LinkedIn is apparently becoming the recruiting tool of choice for many companies. Why? Most people on LinkedIn already have jobs. That is, they aren't actively searching for new positions, and those are the type of people recruiters covet.
"The $8 billion recruiting industry is built on the fact that [passive candidates] are hard to find," says Fortune writer Jessi Hempel in the article. "LinkedIn changes that. It's the equivalent of a little black book -- highly detailed and exposed for everyone to see."
The article says Accenture plans to find 40% of its new employees through social networking sites like LinkedIn over the next few years.

Are you getting job inquiries through LinkedIn? Just curious. By the way, I'm not looking. ;-)
